The role of an MRI Radiographer

We are looking for a motivated and skilled MRI Radiographer to become part of our radiology team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven MRI experience who is committed to delivering both excellent diagnostic images and a positive patient experience. Flexible working patterns are available for full-time (37.5 hours).

What You’ll Do

  • Independently run MRI lists including orthopaedic, general, and contrast studies.

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of MRI safety procedures and departmental protocols.

  • Work closely with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure smooth service delivery.

  • Provide clear, empathetic communication and reassurance to patients.

  • Contribute to departmental operations during core hours (Monday to Friday).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Produce and review high-quality diagnostic images with patient safety and dignity as a priority.

  • Ensure scanning is performed in accordance with current protocols and clinical best practice.

  • Manage bookings, workflow, and RIS/PACS processes effectively.

  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.

  • Report technical issues and escalate concerns to the management team as required.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.

  • Current HCPC registration.

  • Previous clinical MRI experience.

  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

  • A proactive approach to continuous professional development.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification in MRI or equivalent advanced training.
