About The role of a Regional Operations Director

This is a high-profile leadership position with responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of the regional business.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Regional Operations Director will oversee a portfolio of major building and infrastructure projects, working closely with project directors, commercial teams, clients and key stakeholders.

You will have significant influence over regional strategy, project delivery, operational efficiency and future growth.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious construction leader who wants to move beyond simply delivering projects and play a genuine role in shaping a regional business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership across the regional operations function
  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a portfolio of major projects
  • Lead and develop senior project, commercial and operational teams
  • Drive operational performance, profitability and project efficiency
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with major clients and strategic partners
  • Identify new opportunities and support regional business development
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
  • Monitor project performance, commercial risk and financial results
  • Work alongside the Board to develop and implement the regional growth strategy
  • Champion innovation, sustainability and modern construction practices
  • Develop a strong pipeline of future talent and succession plans
  • Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, compliance and governance

About You

We are looking for an established senior construction or infrastructure professional with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects and high-performing teams.

You will ideally have:

  • Significant senior leadership experience within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure
  • A strong track record managing complex, high-value projects
  • Experience operating at Regional Director, Operations Director, Project Director or equivalent level
  • Strong commercial and financial understanding
  • Proven experience managing and developing senior teams
  • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience developing regional growth strategies and winning new business
  • A strong understanding of health, safety, quality and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills
  • Relevant industry qualifications; professional membership such as MCIOB, CEng or equivalent would be advantageous
