We are seeking a talented Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with expertise in Upper Limb or Shoulder & Elbow procedures to join a leading surgical centre known for its outstanding patient outcomes and modern facilities. Key Responsibilities
As part of our orthopaedic team, you will:
- Carry out a variety of upper limb procedures, including:
- Arthroscopic and open shoulder operations (repairs, stabilisations, decompressions)
- Arthroscopic and open elbow interventions
- Shoulder arthroplasty
- Dupuytren’s contracture release
- Hand surgery (e.g., carpal tunnel release, trapeziectomy)

Manage patient care across the full pathway: assessment, surgery, and follow-up.

Uphold the highest standards of clinical effectiveness and patient safety.

Work closely with anaesthetists, nurses, physiotherapists, and other colleagues to refine and enhance care pathways.

Take part in clinical governance activities, including audit, service development, and research.

Participate in revalidation, appraisal, and ongoing professional training.

Share your expertise by mentoring junior doctors and clinical staff.

Join the consultant on-call rota, with first-line support from resident medical officers.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

GMC registration with entry on the Specialist Register for Trauma & Orthopaedics.

Advanced training and extensive experience in upper limb, shoulder, or elbow surgery.

A proven record of delivering excellent clinical outcomes with a strong focus on patient wellbeing.

Understanding of clinical governance, audit, and risk management frameworks.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-first approach.
Desirable attributes include:
