We are looking for a Field based Engineering Technician who wants to make a real difference to the lives of healthcare professionals and their patients through reactive and planned, preventative maintenance of the building systems of the hospital and GP sites in the southwest.
We are looking for a specialist FM/Building Services Engineer who brings enthusiasm and energy to this exciting and varied new role. The job will involve:-
- Travelling routinely to the 2 hospital sites to undertake PPM’s and reactive maintenance on the building systems.
- To manage the timely completion of work orders for planned and reactive maintenance, oversee specialist sub-contract work and remedial work.
- Undertake mechanical and electrical building maintenance to include but not exhaustively working on air handling Units (AHUs), emergency/power generators, emergency lighting checks, lighting and security systems, HVAC, pumps, legionella temperature check, tanks flushes, plumbing remedial works.
- Host specialist engineers/manufacturers engineers/contractors on site to undertake specialist remedial/warranty works as required.
- Plant room walk rounds – undertake any snagging and general maintenance/remedial works on each site as required.
- You will ideally be living in the Derby/Birmingham/Nottingham/Leicester/ Midlands area to travel to the two sites to undertake weekly routine and specialised engineering maintenance and breakdown support to these two regional Hospital and urgent care sites.
- Demonstrate a can-do attitude based on engineering standards in an environment of open and honest integrity.
What we look for in you
- An experienced Maintenance Technician/ FM Engineer or Building Services Engineer who wants to be field based.
- Someone already living/working in the Derby/Nottingham/Leicester/Midlands area willing to undertake or already undertaking a field-based M&E Technician role.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working independently as a site-based building maintenance technician or as a field based mobile multi-skilled maintenance technician.
- Willing to work Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week with a flexible approach to working hours - some works undertaken at weekends on an ad hoc but planned basis.
- A real problem solver, someone who is reliable, planned and organised that can use their own initiative.
- City& Guilds Part 3, ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Plumbing
- Time served apprenticeship, in a Mechanical or Electrical biased discipline is essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety guidelines.
- Understanding of L8 Legionella ACOP and water temperature checks, TMV checks, tank flushes
- A high level of organisation and time management skills in situations where there are sometimes conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrable fault-finding techniques and ability to read detailed plans.
