Our Clients Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry and is now looking for a Sales Manager to maximize sales and margin for all assigned Optical Communications’ products to the Enterprise Network market. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Location:  Germany; Central & South-West (pref. Frankfurt area, Kaiserslautern, Stuttgart)
This is a fully remote position.

Objectives for the Sales Manager:

 

  • Maximize sales and margin for all assigned Optical Communications’ products to the Enterprise Network market, primarily in the US Federal business in Germany, but also for other accounts in the allocated region, in both LAN- and datacenter applications.
  • Generate leads and identify new opportunities, positioning and specifying solutions.
  • Work closely with the US Federal sales team and cooperate with other sales colleagues in EMEA.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with end users, distribution channels and installers.
  • Develop and implement an account and territory plan and adjust sales techniques according to interactions and results in the field.
  Key Measures:
  • Meet or exceed budgeted sales levels for all products through regular sales calls to a targeted, balanced mix of end users, consultants, distributors and contractors generating a preference for Optical Communications’ products.
  • Maintain positive Customer relationships across key functional areas including appropriate Executive action.
  • Maintain and update Account Plans, Opportunities and activities for allocated region in the respective CRM database.
  • Establish and maintain sufficient product knowledge of the Optical Communications’ products and their applications to recognize opportunities and communicate internally to achieve maximum advantage.
  • Communicate competitive information obtained from all sources to specific Product Line Managers, Marketing and Sales.
  • Participate in nominated regional trade shows and conventions in the territory to promote Optical Communications’ solutions and support targeted distributors’ sales effort.
  Required skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of sales experience preferably in the same industry, with proven success rate at levels above sales quota.
  • Strong technical / product / industry knowledge in Optical Communications’ and optical fiber.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and presentation skills.
  • Very good German and English language skills.
  • High flexibility and willingness for 3 to 4 days of business travel per week.
